Bio:

BBC Introducing with Tom Robinson on 6music ..
Hi there, I'm Ross 'Dr Rosko' Gilchrist. I've been playing music since I was in secondary school and I've listened to a lot of different stuff over the years, just like everyone else out there. I say that all music has it's worth and place. My tastes change daily as I am stunned by this vast wealth of music that is inescapable right now. Oliver Sacks says in his book 'Musicophilia ;Tales of Music and the Brain', that we are locked in a non stop performance. iPods, internet, this very page is an example of such heavy proliferation of music within our society. Yet, it is here. What I try to do is cover as many bases as possible to keep myself entertained. Sometimes I like to write something kinda funny, or surreal, and sometimes I like to play electric guitar or shout obscenities at celebrities I don't have the right to. I play guitar, korg kaossillator, violin, cardboard box on 'When You're Smiling', and sing. Review from crookedrain.co.uk

"Next up was Ross Gilchrist, my pick of the night. Ross is so slight he looked as though his guitar may tip him over, and whose jacket was he wearing? Anyway, he ripped into Psycho Killer to start and bowled the audience over. It was a great opener and made everyone take notice. He kept up his on stage poise with some banter and seemed quite at ease. He has a different sound from most of his ilk and it plays well."

What they say, be they who they are...

"...very clever, exciting stuff."- Roscoe Vacant

"Weird folktronic doo-wop rock!"- David Burns

"..one of those little guys I beat up in school."- Mark Calloway
