Think the most fun you may EVER have in an art class --a very non-traditional art class, where instead of grades, you may drink shots or win a fun prize!

Dr. Sketchy's is the little Brooklyn event that became a movement. Founded in 2005 by artist Molly Crabapple, Dr. Sketchy's asked a simple question. Why can't drawing naked people be sexy?

Visit www.drsketchy.com for an attempt at an answer!

In the meantime, artists across the world wanted in on the three hours of decadence. Starting in Norfolk, Virginia, but soon spreading from Hollywood to London to Melbourne, Dr. Sketchy's began popping up across the globe. Now we're a 65-city strong art community, with new branches starting each week.

In June 2006, Molly signed with Sepulculture Books to do Dr. Sketchy's Official Rainy Day Colouring Book. Written by Molly Crabapple and John Leavitt, The Colouring Book is one part official Dr. Sketchy's history and DIY compendium, one part activity book on acid. Filled with drinking games, paper dolls, dirty word finds, and almost a hundred illustrations, it's available for sale now, with its first printing selling out fast.

In 2007, Molly toured the US, founding branches and spreading the Sketchy's gospel.

As Dr. Sketchy's enters it's third year, we couldn't be prouder. And we want to hear from you. Whether you're a New York Times reporter, documentary filmmaker, glittering burlesque girl, or just some scruffy art monkey off the street, drop by for your portal to babes, booze and Bristol.

Now, get drawing.

Yes, times are hard-- Unemployment in Indiana tops ten percent. Young people are struggling to stay in college because graduating is terrifying... Been there before, in the middle of another painful recession in the 80's-- The answer was reggae music-- I brought reggae bands to stages from PA to Iowa, and points in between. Those years were spent in the groove, poor but irie! Now, we need music more than ever before-- Even with hope on the horizon, it's going to be a long haul this time. Mumbai Taxi is trying to ease the pain-- Yes, there will be weekends when a cover at a club, and the price of drinks, will be a bit dear... Our solution: HOUSE PARTIES!!! We need to play, and you need trips, Taxi trips-- A cosmic convergence of positive iration! Let's declare a new SUMMER OF LOVE-- Of Mumbai Taxi psychedeclic Mambo, Tropicalia, Soukous, Soweto Beat & Rockin' Raga Reggae in living rooms, back yards, deep woods, concert halls, gardens, festivals-- Wherever there is a need to tune in, turn on, and take a (Mumbai) Taxi trip! Contact us soon-- The calendar is filling up.

    Phila Phil & Mumbai Taxi--
    Baba Akinwala
    Yudiddiyuh
    Griffin-Sledge
    Kevin
    & Bill.

For some reason, MySpace hasn't been sending the event invitations for Mayor Ballard's appearance at Broad Ripple High School Thursday night! We need a HUGE crowd to pack the school's auditorium in support of keeping Fire Station 32 AS A FIRE STATION! Most recently, the Mayor's office has said that the station will remain within the Public Safety division, but that could include Weights & Measures or Animal Control!

IMPORTANT! MAYOR BALLARD COMES TO BROAD RIPPLE
    When: Thursday, Mar 19, 2009 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    Where: Broad Ripple High School

Mayor Ballard and his staff, including public safety director Scott Newman, will be fielding questions and giving answers in this open forum.
THIS IS THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE OUR COMMITMENT TO FIRE STATION 32 KNOWN!

We need EVERYONE to be present for this very important meeting! This is our chance to let Mayor Ballard and his entire staff know just how serious we are about maintaining Fire Station 32 AS A FIRE STATION.

PLEASE plan to attend this VERY important meeting and bring your friends with you!
