Dr Smile aka Maciej Dobrosielski – is a true talent passionate about the music, a DJ, a music producer, a promoter, a remixer and on top of all of that, an artist.
A few years ago he left Poland and set out on his first music tour. Motivated by the strong will to progress in his music, armoured with the new equipment and full of energy and ambitions, he finally settled down in Dublin.
His career on the island kicked off when along with Grzegorz Mazur he started organizing House parties on the roofs of Temple Bar. Still the same year (2005), Smile eventually got the chance for his first club performance at the pre-New Year Eve's party in The Vault club, sponsored by VIVA TV. He stirred up the party playing along with DJs: Poziom X (Poland), John Gibbons (Ireland), Wary (Poland), Ed Whitty (USA).
After that party he initiated his own party edition Fantasia. Smile's parties in The Vault were taking part from time to time while, at the same time, along with Greg Oleksevic he started organizing open air gigs.
Year 2007 was punctuated by many performances in various clubs around Ireland, where Smile had a great opportunity to play along such celebrities as: Carla Roca, Diana d Rouze, Jon Gibbons, Westbam, Rank1, Marcel Woods, Wary, Sonarsson, Adriano K, Dervish, Toxic Noize, Poziom X, Cez Are Kane, Whisper, Grendy, Pesho, Blank & Jones, Benjamin Beats, Mike Koglin, ADHD, Salacious, Poziom X, Schimek and many, many more.
Dr Smile performed also at the stage of an Irish edition of the Sunrise Festival, and toured Ireland with Westbam.
He is said to prescribe the sound doses as a true doctor, and to get the audience carried away partying.
His house rhythms compose into his audience's minds smoothly. The sound mixture made up by him lets people forget about their everyday problems, heals them and fills them with positive 'smiley' energy.
Dr Smile represents mainly two styles. First is warm, melodious, ‘smiley' house with the elements of tribal and latino sounds. Second is more dynamic – Pumpin Electro House. As a unity, Smile's style is described as a tribal electronic.
According to Dr Smile there is nothing impossible… This is literally the philosophy that influences this young artist's life the most. Apart from his greatest passion, Smile also is into collecting the paintings that depict his character the best. In his free time he himself reaches for the brush. His horizons expand as much as to embrace his ‘smiley' philosophy, ecology, computers' world and, especially, graphics, which he creates himself and adapts to his projects skilfully.
Dr Smile is constantly looking for new challenges, which he can then successfully tick off his diary as done. The bar raised up high is his best motivation for creating, and the audience at his gigs can always hear its results the best.
