Please view these short films. Feel free to leave a comment regarding the significance of silence in media and I will respond. Perhaps you'll consider this: How does hearing the sound and watching the images outside of the full context of the event shape your beliefs about what is going on in the film? Could the same kinds of biases soak into our souls from years of viewing the tightly framed and edited visual communication that we call TV? Is what you view on TV REALLY what is happening? If not, what is reality?

This is a tough question because the sound of this CD is not typical CCM or worship music. As noted in influences: Keith Green, Phil Keaggy, Amy Grant, and Karen Carpenter helped to shape the lyric and vocal styling. The music has smooth jazz, pop, acoustic, classical, theatrical and world music influences. The music was created to help the listener focus on meditating and worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ. Hopefully, it is the sound that help you worship the King.
From the Producer & husband, Earl Bennett:
My wife Stephanie is an interesting woman. (If you're one of her friends, you already know that)! She enjoys being creative and dabbles in drama, singing, and even painting an occasional watercolor, but she is a writer at heart. The songs she writes come from a poetic place that she shares openly with others who enjoy exploring their own creative side. It is her heart-felt words with simple melodies that are the songs of "Toward the Lamb." The arrangements of each song were an opportunity for me and a few of my good friends to create a special vibe on her very intimate meditative songs. As you'll notice, the music is not explicitly evangelical, nor is it very religious -- just simple songs that tell a story of my wife's spiritual journey. Each song leads to the next in hopes of bringing the listener to a place of peaceful encounter with God and a look into the way she got there.
We hope the music takes you to a place of inward reflection and ultimately to experience "the peace that passes all understanding." If you enjoy Steph's music we would love to give you a CD. Ask for it the next time you see one of us or write us and send your snail mail address. If you are touched by the couple of tracks I've placed here on MySpace, we think you should have a copy of the whole ten-song project (gratis, of course). God Bless, Earl
It's me again...a few months later...I called the other day when Sonj was about to head out the door to pick you up from the airport and again Thursday night when Pop Pop was feeding the baby. Miss ya...love ya...now that summer is over and my last comment doesn't mean much at this point maybe we can get together before Christmas??? Ya think???
Were you really up at 3:30 on MySpace??? You better take care of yourself this semester!
Kristina said she had lunch with you and I got jealous, so we need to get together soon. And I want to get together with Sondra before she's due! I've been thinking about you guys and I hope her pregnancy has been good for her. Tell her I said hi and let me know what your schedule is like.
