About me:

Welcome to DRUMHEAD and thank you for stopping by. DRUMHEAD magazine is an important tool for your craft. Whether music is your profession, a hobby, or you're an enthusiast, a programmer or just love a good groove, here's what you can expect in every issue of our magazine:

Interviews: A very honest look at the artists, the lives they lead and the world they live in - not just what kit they play and whom they're playing it with, but what makes them who they are. Our goal is that every artist interviewed bestow their wisdom via DRUMHEAD to you, the reader. Whether it be tricks of the trade or the mistakes they made, it's important and should be displayed. (ok, I'm a drummer, not a poet)!

Education: Private master classes in various departments covering everything from advanced playing, basic studio chops, independence, digital editing and more, covering all styles of music around the globe. We are very fortunate to be able to call on the top players and teachers to give you the guidance and instruction that has helped them get to where they are today. We're very excited about our "With The Pros" concept and content that we've put together. Simply put, we've designed a format for you to 1) Learn From The Pros, 2) Practice With The Pros and eventually 3)Play With The Pros.

  • Learn From The Pros: Every issue will have note-for-note transcriptions of a variety of songs, covering everything from pop to prog, fusion to funk. This will give the reader a chance to follow along, to learn exactly what the drummer was playing, and learn how to read a chart. Full drum charts as well as lead sheets will be used to prepare you for a variety of situations you might encounter on the job.

  • Practice With The Pros: Every CD will have two songs for you to learn from, one with drums and one without, along with a drum chart in the magazine to learn from and play to.

  • Play With The Pros: When you're finally ready to record your demo, just go to the DRUMHEAD website, choose the material(s) that you want to perform on, download the actual full stereo mixes to import into any recording format, and away you go. If you're ready to record, but don't have the caliber of players you desire or a band thatís ready, we can give you the opportunity to actually record a demo playing with pro session musicians. Wait until you see and hear the difference that makes in your playing!

Gear: Whether it's information on a new piece of equipment or an actual audio demo recording, you'll get complete and total accuracy. Accuracy that you can count on and feel confident with when it comes to making the right choice for yourself, your kit and your career.

DRUMHEAD is a multi-media experience with a personality and a mission - to enable you to express yourself through the love of music and drums. How can you not smile when you pick up your sticks...

And that's what DRUMHEAD is all about.
