Although I can go on and on, these are names that have influenced in one way or another; ENJOY!:
Animal Closest to god-like. Actually, the other guy named Buddy. hehe
J. Bonham I can't comment;
I'm unworthy.
K. Moon Eccentric /
dynamic drum style; almost insane. My favorite is the end (I'd love to pull that off).
C. Beauford He's an
octopus; ambidextrious technique.
S. Gadd Simple? Yea,
right; complex like a mother f'er. "High" as hell too; would you agree?
C. Burke My first
influence; awesome stage energy even at his current age. No Clem = No Blondie.
N. Peart My early
influence; untouchable in the '80's. Influenced a lot of today's drummers.
S. Phillips Another early influence
of mine; fusion style w/ great double bass & power fills. Another Octopus, like Beauford; except playing jazz, he rides right
equally complex.
J. Tempesta Raw driving
power!
R. Luzier Newer influence
to me; powerful and dynamic. Keeping an eye on Ray.
C. Sexton Hard hitting power and
unique snare tone (huge snare vents).
H. Jones Hilary is the best female
drummer I've heard.
Here are some worth noting:
*T. Aldridge Hard hitting solos; Attended his drum clinic a while back.
*B. Bruford Unorthodox drum set up (broken pitch set up). Actually, it makes sense.
*D. Bozzio I'm not a fan of huge kits (more w/ less is more my speed); but he plays it well.
*D. Carey Extreme complexity. Plays out of this world time signatures.
*M. Portnoy Another huge kit; plays it well. A lot complex double bass and power fills
*T. Castellano Another female drummer. Energetic playing live.
