Mike Jackson is a studio and touring artist with 13 years drumming experience. He has recorded and toured with bands such as Dominus, Mike Smith Band, Dayna Varga, and currently his band nolessthaneverything.
2003-Present:
Writing and recording with his metal band, nolessthaneverything, which has been playing at different venues in and out of Connecticut. He has also been studying jazz, funk, fusion, and Afro-Cuban music, and is always looking for new projects that include different styles of music. Since 2004, he has been teaching drumming as well with a curriculum that consists of tuning, technique, reading, and playing in a variety of styles and situations to increase musical vocabulary.
1998-Present:
Mike transitioned into contemporary Christian music: which includes Gateway Christian Fellowship worship band, The Mike Smith Band, and Dayna Varga. With these bands he recorded and toured throughout Connecticut, the U.S., and other countries. He is also a first-call drummer when national Christian acts such as Jason Upton, Rita Springer, Kent Henry, and Georgian Benevov come through Gateway Christian Fellowship.
1990-1995:
Mike played in a metal band called Dominus. They grew to a place of playing with national acts such as Morbid Angel, Fear Factory, and Grip Inc. They also had an invitation to go to Europe with Napalm Death to start a world tour, and a two year/two album contract in Germany, but due to poor management, the plans fell through.
1989-1991:
Mike played the drums in his father's band, which played 50's to 80's rock n roll. This band traveled throughout Connecticut playing at different venues. He played with different musicians through the whole spectrum of rock n roll.
