Interests

  • General

Drums - both electric and accoustic, PC games and computers, making people laugh.
  • Music

Metal/Hard Rock/Some old Pop. Favorite Band is Megadeth. Dave Mustaine would be the guy I would want playing and writing in any band I was in. He's got solid lyrics and rock solid guitar skills to boot.

I'm very happy that STP is back together and hope they can capture again the magic they had before.

I absolutely love Rush and prefer mostly their late 70's/80's material.

About me:

I take the spirit and freedom of Hard Rock/Metal drumming and apply it in my music projects...whether it be church or what-have-you. I started playing about age 8 and have continued pursuing the art over the last 26 years. I grew up listening to pop until age 8 and then once interested in learning drums, I switched to bands like Van Halen and Rush. Both bands really helped me to form my style and figure out my playing preferences. I knew I did not want to become...A SIMPLE BEAT KEEPER.

As time went on, I was turned on to many other bands that have since influenced me in one way or another. Although I'm not a big fan of "scream" metal or anything overly dark, there are bands that captured my attention musically. Megadeth and Pantera are some of the heavy hitters that made me sit up and take notice. Whether it was Nick Menza on Rust in Peace or Vinnie Paul on Vulgar Display of Power, I was captivated by the sheer skill and precision that these drummers exhibited at faster tempos.

Also, as I grow older, I appreciate the styles of some 70 's and 80's pop artists. A few years ago, I heard an old Steely Dan song and picked up a best of CD. This convinced me to take a second look at some of the music that was around when I was growing up, whether it be The Cars, Talking Heads, The Human League or Tom Petty or whatnot. Although some of these artists didn't necessarily have the most drum-centered tracks, their writing as a whole produced some really great music that cannot be denied.

Who I'd like to meet:

In no particular order... Music: Dave Mustaine, Glen and Shawn Drover, Jimmy Degrasso, Marty Friedman, Nick Menza, Alex Van Halen, Sammy Hagar, David Lee Roth, Michael Anthony, Neil Peart, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Robert and Dean DeLeo, Erik Kretz, Scott Weiland, Vinnie Paul, Jerry Gaskill, Ty Tabor, Doug Pinnick

Gaming: Warren Spector - Deus Ex creator, Ken and Roberta Williams/Al Lowe - Sierra On-line...I miss the Quest Series of games!!

Politics: Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly
