Babtunde Olantuji, Raquy Danziger, Halim el Dahb, Jim Donovan, Mickey Hart, Super John Wells, Dr. Harry Pepper, and a host of others I've seen and heard play.
Mike 'dragon' Charavell,(me) has been building and repairing various styles of drums, as well as playing them publicly since 1999, and started to build and play Native American style flutes in 2005.
I've played at festivals, rocked for a while with a tribal goth band (that was fun!), jammed with Marcos Santos and Carlos Jones at Walk and Roll Cleveland, and usually have a drum between my knees or on them.
I've had the great fortune to have been involved with Common Ground Center's Day of Drumming. as well as Cleveland Ingenuity Festivals' Symphony for 1000 Drums, composed by Halim el Dahb, and 1000 Samba Drums, composed by Marcos Santos.
Currently helping to foster community drum circles in the Ohio towns of Olmsted Falls and Oberlin. (http://www.commongroundcenter.org). I'm also the percussionist for the celtic - folk group The Oh! Sullivans. Through contact with Raquy Danziger and Liron Peled, I've become attracted to middle eastern rhythms and music. Because of this I've been playing and doing sound for Lorain County Belly Dance, Durga Dance Company, and now Tribal Illusions in the North Central Ohio area. You can also hear some of my flute work on Remnants of Isadore, a compilation featuring some of Northern Ohios best musicians.
The Drum brings joy, peace, exhilaration, and unity. Get One! DRUM!

How did we not know about the Nov 15th show??? We would have loved to been a part of the show. I'm going to try to come down to see it though. It's a Saturday right? Any drum workshops going on during the day?
Great! We have lots of events going on. We just got back from our camping trip! It was awesome to have that community feeling and meet some new people. How are you guys doing? This is Amanda btw.

I'm not sure. We just finished mixing the last song yesterday. Now we will listen to each song and send them to be mastered. Then I have to start with the artwork for the CD. I'm hoping to be done by the end of July.
