is a brief history of early Punk and beyond, with stories and punk reviews
charting the rise of British/Anglo/American punk rock from 1976, to new-Wave
and others, based on the biography and Discography of JJ Johnson,
aka John (JJ) Johnson.
Then, Drummer,
percussionist and later keyboard player, singer/songwriter, producer, filmmaker
and co-founder and ex-member of The
Electric Chairs who was also part of, or performed with, The
Mystere Five, The
Flying Lizards, The
Skids, Thomas Dolby, GBM,
Bill
Carter (Screaming Blue Messiahs), Sarah Corina (Mekons)and
Coochies Bream and others. |

Johnson formed GBM in 1982, an unconventional,
experimental music project and teamed up with Duncan Bridgeman,
( now part of the duo, '1 Giant Leap'). Johnson eventually
signed to Island Record's subsidiary, Interdisc and Warner Bros Music.
GBM
released three singles, 'Strange News', 'Diction and Fiction', and 'Whistling
in the Dark', and an Album, ' Method in the Madness ',
to much critical acclaim.
Duncan Bridgeman left GBM in 1984 to pursue various music
/ production work, and JJ continued GBM in intermittent, unconventional
forms, as well as other music, film, and online projects through the 90's
