Drums World Wide is a unique service designed to keep drummers and percussionists around the globe in contact not only conversationally, but also instrumentally.
By harnessing the ultra-communicative and educational powers of the Internet, Drums World Wide connects beginner, amateur and professional players together into collaborative percussive collages and virtual group performances, combining a multitude of drummers into one setting, no matter how far apart they are.
Video footage and/or audio is submitted by the performers, which is then edited together to form a collective composition – whether it be a duo of drummers laying down a groove or 50 djembe players jamming in succession. Players the world over are given exposure and the opportunity to make new friends and associates.
Drums World Wide aims to give drummers of all abilities and nationalities the opportunity to play with everyone from their international peers to modern professionals, further promoting and expanding the friendship based connections that the drumming world provides and embraces.
