Bio
Andrew Marlin is a songwriter from Warrenton, NC, and a true lover of all things music. Armed with an acoustic guitar, Andrew manages to seamlessly transition between one genre to the next while still maintaining a sound that is purely his own. Traditional and modern folk, jazz, bluegrass and R&B all become one through his voice and strings. Andrew currently plays his original tunes with Emily Frantz as the duo Mandolin Orange. The two tour NC and beyond playing their roots music... original acoustic tunes inspired by folk music's great pickers, performers and storytellers. www.myspace.com/mandolinorange -

The recordings heard on this page come from my first solo album, completed in December 2008 but to be released in 2010. Many other musicians played on the recordings, including Robert Sledge (bass), Kevin Brock (percussion), Sam Hampton (bass - The Rabbit). All of these tunes were recorded by Jerry Brown at the Rubber Room Studios in Chapel Hill (www.rubberroomstudio.com). Thanks to Wes Lambe (www.wlguitars.com) for letting me play his guitar on "Love Sweet Love". -
Influences
Eddie Veddar, John Lennon, Regina Spektor, Dean Martin, Neil Young, Jim Morrison, Norman Blake, Cole Porter, The Books, Broken Social Scene, Bob Dylan, Big Medicine, 90.5, 89.7 -
