dryfishbutterfly is an instrumental rock band from Tokyo.

After being founded by Aki in 2000, dryfishbutterfly (DFB) started playing energetic shows in the Tokyo area. They released a two-track demo CD, followed by two three-track EPs.

In 2005, after several lineup changes, the band took shape with its current members, and started a new, improvisation-based song-writing process, and found a new sound at the crossing paths of four different personalities and backgrounds. After several shows, they took a break to recording their latest CD.

In 2008, they released their self-titled album "dryfishbutterfly".
Soon after they began playing new shows in Tokyo.
