Dry River Caravan came together in 2006 when a group of friends decided they wanted to put their songwriting skills to work playing traditional music. So far the main focus of the band has been the folk traditions of two continents. On one hand there is a pull towards the American Roots and Country tradition, and on the other a leaning towards the sounds of Eastern Europe and Russia. Through this amalgam of styles and influences the band has been able to come up with a style that borrows from the traditions of the past but remains a genuinely unique creation. Altough they have played only a handful of shows, the bands high energy and intruguing live performances always keep the crowds up on their feet and wanting more. Look for a debut album early summer of 2008.
Hey guys (Hye Ben Deinstead!) Thanks for the add. Great sound you have, those are some sweet live tracks you have up. Hope you enjoy my tunes, I'm releasing my first album shortly.
Oli...what up family! Major shout-out from Okinawa, Japan... I'm over here with Otis and your little cousin Kura chiliin. Keep up the good work on the bass. If you guys ever get stickers made-up, mail them to me and I'll make you official sponsors of a race team, lol. Peace.
really wow thanks a million man ! its great to get support. We were trying to sort of get the gypsy sound but were not sure how so our first song is more ska influenced. I think were gonna cover " Sally - Gogol Bordello " next so that should work.
Yo, I see you have a show coming up I'll get my accordianist and we'll check it out.
hey, we are from ottawa. and man, you're music is just what we are trying to achieve, we just started out and we're gonna put up one of our recordings soon its more ska influenced but we want to get into more gypsy like music revolving balkan beat box, a silver mt. zion, a hawk and a hacksaw, the decemberists and whatnot.
when we get more songs we'll definatly play some shows.

Thanks for seeking out music beyond the clearchannel radio!! The jury is still out on whether this music improves or otherwise impacts your health, but we think you can decide for yourself.
