A true head indeed, always digging for new music, a new sound. Dan Solo has earned his stripes in Western Canada's underground music community with a diverse knowledge of music, and ever evolving style. Over the past 5 years he has showcased gigs all over British Columbia & Alberta, & held residencies in both Vancouver & Calgary. More recently sharing the stage with artists including Fake Blood, Boys Noize, MSTRKRFT, Glitch Mob, Danger, Skream and Drop the Lime amongst others. Dan has been asked to dislpay his sound on several radio shows both local and abroad including a dubstep set for award winning online station subfm.com this spring in Barcelona, Spain.
Playing his seventh Shambhala Music Festival this August, Dan Solo displays his underground style with a sense of discovery and playfulness, smoothly transcending genres from electro to tech house, dubstep to dancehall & more, keeping dance floors rammed all the while. Dan's tracks, remixes and mixtapes are revered by many and featured on numerous blogs and online magazines.
His latest project Piranha Piranha has been turning heads since its inception, and gained support from and play from artists including Starkey & Drop the Lime amongst others. Watch out for big original releases and mixes this summer/fall 2009.
