DiverseSoulz. The name itself really explains what and who they are – a crew of friends who are all different in several varying ways, but have deeper common interests that reach the soul. The main connection they all share is their passion for music and dance, originating from hiphop, and flowing thru to house music, breaks, and more. They all have different family backgrounds, upbringings, and lives – but, they are a family of close friends who took their love for those things that connect them, and have used them to positively influence their communities.
The crew originated with Rudy Lara and Peter Vattakavanich – who believed that Dallas needed a strong representation of the urban dance scene, and wanted those who didn’t know about the urban culture, to know about it. The crew grew with members like Leon, Francis, Mikey, DJ Love and Minus, who added different elements and representation through their visions of the hiphop elements. Thru several exhibitions of dance, graffiti, and dj’ing – the cohesiveness and energy they brought motivated and inspired onlookers at any and every venue. Different representations of their arts, and the love and passion for bringing it to every walk of life, made an imprint in the hearts of those who were able to see them – and engraved their name throughout a number of different industries. DiverseSoulz went from being a group of friends, to creating a strong underground movement in Dallas. From shows at clubs and festivals, to traveling state and nationwide doing performances, to throwing one of Dallas’ largest hiphop events, 3 years in a row – they work to push forward and infect everyone with THEIR spirit.
They are the elements of hiphop. They are dance. They are strength, unity, love, and positivity. They are the DiverseSoulz.
