| General | Everyone who replies to this always puts one of two things: Listening to music and hanging out with friends. Duh. Who's going to say they don't like friends or music?
I have a particular interest in aviation and aircraft. Seeing how a hunk of metal weighing many tons can actually leave the ground is something that utterly fascinates me. Unfortunately, there are not many good opportunities for plane spotting now in the post 9-11 world. I try to get to at least one good airshow every summer.
I used to be a pretty darn good clarinet and saxophone player, but i've unfortunateley let that slide as of late. I played in a big band for a while and enjoyed the hell out of it.
| | Music | Widely diverse. I like some old country (Johnny Cash) but not a lot of new country. My mp3 collection has classical, jazz, sinatra, hard rock, musicals, big band, opera, and a little bit of just about anything you can think of. I have an affinity for 80's music. I love the musical 'Rent' (and have since it came out on broadway), and can't wait to go see 'Wicked' now that it's on an open run in Chicago. | | Movies | Shawshank Redemption, Blues Brothers, Star Wars, Star Trek, Monty Python, Kentucky Fried Movie, Just about anything from Pixar, Apollo 13, Oceans 11, Casino, The Aviator, Hunt for Red October, the list goes on and on and on....odds are if it's a comedy I'll like it. | | Television | Discovery channel (Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, etc). Love Family guy and Adult Swim too. If I had the Discovery Wings channel, I would never leave the house. I like Food Network and Alton Brown's shows, too. | | Books | I've read both of Anthony Bourdain's books, A Cook's Tour and Kitchen Confidential (I also love his TV series on the Travel Channel). I do a lot of crossword puzzles, they help me fall asleep (I know, I'm pathetic). Other than that, most of my reading is work or school related. Just started reading the new Stephen Colbert book. | | Heroes | That word is overused. |
