Singer, songwiter, producer, performer . . . soon to be an inspiration to music lovers all over the nation and across the globe. With his smooth sultry voice alone he defines music. Very rarely does an artist like this reach the surface . . . someone with the energy and the gifts to switch the whole game around. Because R&B and Hip-Hop has fallen off the scale of modern day decency, Derek Womack (aka d.t.) has risen to the challenge:to bring R&B and Hip-Hop back to it's highest musical standards. Born in Tampa, FL and raised by renowned Jazz artist, Belinda Womack, dt grew up with a great respect of music and performing. He actually started singing at the age of 3. He would watch his mother and her jazz band rehearse in their living room for hours learning everything he could. He began learning other instruments including the piano, drums, trumpet, bass, and violin but his voice was his instrument of choice. He joined the choir at his church and continued to sing wherever he could. He even sang with his mother whenever she performed. At the age of 14 he was invited to Montreaux, Switzerland to play at the Montreaux Jazz Festival. By this time he was already writing and producing his own material. He had already shared stages with artists such as B.B. King, Ray Charles, Color Me Badd, and Nat Aderley. Now he's hitting the music scene with the determination to make things new! So be on the look out . . .!!!
