Dualistics is a progressive pop band from Denver, CO. Starting originally as a recording project by Jimmy Stofer (bass) and Scott Russell (drums) in late 2006, the additions of Charley Hine and Tyler Despres (guitars and vocals) helped complete the band allowing them to play live. In Spring of 2009, Nate Barnes started playing his very own drums with the group, and the current lineup is working on new material for an upcoming release later this year.
Recordings:
The latest Dualistics release, a 6 track E.P. titled "Dualistics", is a true guitar record with darker, heavier grooves. It is the most aggressive material the group has released to date with technical writing and playing shining through.
On Stage:
Collectively, the 4 members have been in over 25 musical acts over the last decade. As Dualistics they have jammed with Mike Watt, The Fray, Menomena, Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos, Polyphonic Spree, Tokyo Police Club, Marc Ford, and From Monument to Masses.
Dualistics are constantly writing music and starting unbelievable gossip. Be sure to check back in on them every now and again!
"Dualistics’ emotive but sophisticated style makes them the perfect candidates for Denver’s next breakout act. Dualistics stand a chance of achieving a significant national popularity..." Billy Thieme - Denver Post
"Listening to Dualistics' new self-titled EP, it's evident that the band is truly coming into its own. The material is strong, the sound is polished, and confidence positively oozes out of the speakers." Cory Casciato - Westword magazine
"...the diminutive collection - less than thirty minutes long - is jam-packed with crunchy guitars, catchy-as-a-coldsore melodies and some impressive instrumentalism." Eryc Eyl - Westword magazine
"With their 2009 release (self titled), Dualistics have taken the time to refine what has escalated so quickly. The EP is strong, with arcing guitar lines and moments of dynamite in a dusty box. The guitars are big, the groove is fat and rolling. Evident is also a pop sensibility for melody and song structure." Jonathan Bitz - Syntax magazine
"Every song is beat-driven, with a mellow sway to accompany the band’s unique lyrics." Saturday Night Magazine
"The Dualistics new self-titled six track EP may serve to catapult this mega-talented band into the national spotlight. Their music is complex, sublime and rippling with heavy guitar vigor. With a mixture of superior album influences including Coldplay, Radiohead and even a smidgen of Weezer, it's obvious this foursome understand the dualities of creating great songs within the framework of great powers." Colorado Music Buzz
"Dualistics use ample space and mesh clever guitar work with an impeccable rhythm section to put together a CD that won’t let you get bored." Scene Magazine
Dude! Charlie! TOTALLY sucks about your car. Was he/she drunk, high? Both? Driving with his/her feet? It's not like your car came out of nowhere. My god, I'm never parking on a street downtown again.
Hopefully you got some payola out of the whole thing. See you dudes on Dec. 11th! Best wishes.
Mark & VIA
