Music
Apple in the Tree
Yo soy una manzana alta en un árbol. When she said those words something inside awakened. An apple high in a tree. For her love, I would have to climb. Whatever happened to that kind of love? Where men win hearts and women invite chivalry. Love that lasts. I am in it’s pursuit.
Tree of Life
In the tree of life, I am one of the branches. The fruit I bear is love. What ever happened to love? Now it's nothing more than one night stands, marriages that can't hold up, people using people for their own physical, emotional and financial gains...whatever happened to love? We have lost love in our society. We have lost respect for ourselves and love. My music was born of this frustration.
A Song of Simplicity
In 2006, Duane Forrest released his debut album entitled "A Song of Simplicity". This 13 song album included songs such as "Better than Flowers", "Dinner 4 2", and "Mariela de Mayaguez". After a successful consignment at the John & Richmond location of Chapters, "A Song of Simplicity" has sold over 400 units without any official distribution.
