Hailing from Portland and California and making a name for himself in Nashville, too, DJ could rightly be called the consummate singer/songwriter. However, that description doesn't include his mastery of guitar, mandolin, bass and other sounds of delight. Whether he's writing a sunset with Lucinda Williams or chiseling a groove with Frank Black, DJ carves out a unique place for himself in the spotlight while showcasing the artists he works with. His own songs are eclectic, a self-described country-soul rock-n-roll. Melodic full-tilt tunes weave through his collections. Pick up the soundtracks for "Horse Whisperer" and "The Rookie" to check out just a few of his contributions to the movies. Duane has a solid fan-base in Europe, too, and "Rolling Stone" in Germany declared "Delicious" a four-star CD. Other collaborations include tenure with The Divinyls, Rosie Flores, Dave Alvin, John Prine, Victoria Williams, Dwight Yoakam, P.F. Sloan and recently sitting in with M. Ward and recording with Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits. Look for DJ's newest CD out soon.

Duane passed away on April 1, 2009. The world has lost a wonderful man.
Hi Duane, It is your Australian friend Sven. Seriously a HUGE thank you for being such a giving friend on my co-writing trip to L.A. and also for the dinner at the best Mexican (hole in the wall) I have ever had. I wish there were more Duane's in the world just as giving and as fun as you ;) I am praying for ya brother...
Dear DJ, I wanted to bring you to here in Hiroshima, Japan. Rockin in there with your big bro, Donald. I'll see you guys in the future. Thanks man, Shuichi-
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. 1
