Duart J. Jansen started to learn about music at the age of 9 (back in 1985), playing the cornet and guitar. At the age of 15 he quit playing guitar, and he wanted to express himself another way. In 1989, Duart was introduced to Electronica, and knew right away that this was his kind of music. Fortunately, a friend of him handed over a software music program called Wacker Tracker and he was able to play like a whole band just by himself using simple plain samples and a PC.
This is when he started to create his own music productions which were mainly Hardcore house and Hardtrance (Bonzai-style) tracks. Soon after, he started buying vinyls and got into DJing. When the Hardcore house turned in to one commercial event, he lost interest in the harder kinds of housemusic, and started spinning and producing Groovy tracks, with some tech influences as well...
After playing around with software, he sent demos out to various companies and found out that people were interested in his tracks, but the tracks still lacked a bit of quality. With this progress, he decided to buy music production hardware, and got serious with production and the business.
Duart mainly works solo, but he also likes to work together with other artists. It varies from singers like IB4 (Wim Radix), to guitar players and other dance producers.
His style varies from lounge to techno, which are most of the time 'feel good' tracks. Sometimes his tracks sound dark and industrial. Most of the tracks he produces have some funky groovy elements since he is a clubhouse producer.
Lately he started working with vocals on a regular base which add a whole new dimension to the music. You can find his music and DJ-sets being played on the German Infected Radio and the Belgium Crazy FM regularly. Duart brings much excitement to his productions, and you can never tell who hell be teaming up with next or what style his new tracks will be...
Since 2005 Duart Jansen got signed with the brand new label Airmass Music, and uses the alias "Groove Disturbance" wich is a cooperation between Duart and IB4.
And because he also works a lot with Eddy van Gelder ( Mystic ) they decided to team up using the alias "3 of a kind"
So watch out for that name, since you will hear a lot more from them in the near future!!!
