PRESENTING THE MADHATTERS BALL 2009 NYE
HOSTED BY DUBCENTRAL, FEEDBACK, JUNGLIST ALLIANCE, DARK CRYSTAL
CORPORATION NIGHTCLUB – SHEFFIELD
Earlier in 2009 four of Sheffield's best loved bass-heavy underground nights got together and formed The Madhatters Family. Dubcentral, Feedback, The Junglist Alliance & Dark Crystal took the blood oath, swore eternal allegiance and pledged to bring the world the even better bass-quaking, heart-stopping, face-cracking parties.
With a series of Madhatter's Balls at the Corporation already under their belts (please no jokes) they reckon 2009 NYE will be their best one ever. What's more, knowing the financial woes that many are suffering, we have set the ticket price at £12.50 for advance tickets, with a 100 Earlybirds at £10 (watch your Facebook for release date). Check this line up and give praise!
ROOM 1 – DUBCENTRAL
Steel City's Root's, steppers and dub specialists set up to provide a night of full positive bass driven vibes.
Featuring:
JAH TUBBY SOUNDSYSTEM
SISTA JAHIN
FATTA SOUND
MR MEERKAT
Dubcentral goes into the stratosphere with the almighty Jah Tubbys World Sound System. Established in North London the 1970s Jah Tubbys System soon moved up to playing against the biggest Sound Systems of the day, eventually becoming one of the most famous and innovative Sound Systems of all time. Tubbys has always been at the heart of the sound; launching many other systems, making the amps that produced the sweetest sounds and putting out the best tunes on his Jah Tubbys and Y & D label. Jah Tubbys is the leader in in making tings sound just right. The famous Dubcentral residents Sista Jahin, Mr Meerkat and Fatta Sound will be warming things up nicely for you all.
ROOM 2 – JUNGLIST ALLIANCE AND DARK CRYSTAL
Featuring:
YOUNGSTA (TEMPA)
EASY D (96 Hysteria Set)
MC JUICEMAN
DEADMAN & WALKER
ROUGE STATE || AUTOGRAFF || DEADBEAT
SUBTITLES DJ’S
After some deep thought Walker & Deadman have made an effort to please all camps. Their room will consist of both original, old-skool jungle and the most up to date, cutting edge dubstep. After a blistering performance last year, DJ Youngsta will once again play the midnight set with guaranteed massive bassweight. MC Juiceman makes a rare Sheff appearance alongside Easy D, the foundation DJ for Sheffield DnB and Jungle. Dark Crystal residents Rogue State, Autograff and Deadbeat will provide Sheffield infused dubstep sounds alongside representatives from Subtitle’s, a Corporation based night that has grown to become one of the most important dubstep events in the city. Rounding the event off, the last set will come from Junglist Alliance, fresh from their winter tour which has includes some dates in Tirana (Albania) and a youth hostel in Dartmoor!
ROOM 3 – FEEDBACK – DRUM AND BASS
A huge line-up of the finest drum and bass, to bring the roof down and show you once again how we destroy the dance – Feedback style.
Featuring:
DJ FIERCE (Quarantine Recordings)
AUDIO (Therapy Sessions/Freak/Hardware)
AGGERS (Feedback)
VENJA (Feedback)
N VISION (Fall Out Recordings)
SPECIAL GUESTS MC E-LL
Feedback are proud to announce DJ Fierce and Audio will be giving you a massive dose of drum and bass this NYE. The Feedback room will give you an insight into the sounds of Quarantine and Freak Recordings. Fierce is a top-flight DJ and has destroyed the Feedback dance-floor a few times now. Fierce has built up a discography that boasts work with Ed Rush, Optical and Bad Company and releases on No U-Turn, Ram, and Prototype amongst others. He is truly one of the most respected and energetic DJ’s on the circuit – and he is still strictly vinyl! Audio is a true underground solider – he keeps himself to himself and those that come across his music will know the score and appreciate it. His sound is seriously heavy and high energy. Audio produces on Reason and makes tunes on building sites he works on producing these immense crunching drums and bass sounds in the night. Audio is sure to give you the NYE experience you need to see in 2010. But we’re not finishing there, also expect set’s from our residents Aggers, N Vision and Venja hosted by MC E-LL

ABOUT DUBCENTRAL....
DUBCENTRAL is a night commited to promoting Reggae and Roots music from the past 40 years to the present day, not just from JA, but the UK and all over the world, it's just gotta have the skank. Started around 6/7 years ago as a Sunday chill out session at the Vine Pub, with one little sound and a kaos pad, before hooking up with other young sounds (Riddimtion, Trouble and 4-Series) to put on the first session at the Everyone Centre, a night called One Love. The night with its hotchpotch of four small sounds cobbled together was certainly not the best soundsystem that's played there, but the night went off with a bang, and it inspired us to carry on and look for ways to improve the nights and sessions. We wanted to bring soundsystems to Sheffield as for a long time there had been no big steppers scene here, so our first gig with Iration Steppas was an eye and ear opener for most people thru the door and people were hooked. Since then its been a long time of trying to keep things fresh, bringing new soundsystems and styles to the night, with our first non stepper night being an album launch for Dancehall giant Daddy Freddy with Underground Roots Soundsystem, other highlights include the Mad Proffessor live PA with Aisha, and of course Vibronics with Iration Soundsystem. DUBCENTRAL is purely about ALL TRIBES coming together to listen to conscious, uplifting and vibrant music. ******************************************Our listeners are from all backgrounds, male and female, from teenagers to 84 year old grannies, and all leave with same smile on their face! It has to be said that the crowd and atmoshere is something very special in our sessions and one of the big reasons that Dubcentral is getting such a good reputation on the national scene.
****************************************Our previous guests have included Mad Professor (live PA), Iration Steppas Sounsystem (Leeds), Freedom Masses Soundystem (Manchester), Vibronics (live PA), Operation Soundsystem, Daddy Freddy feat Bongo Chilli & D.Bo General with the Underground Roots Soundsystem, Channel One Soundsystem, Roots Hitek Soundsystem with Idren Natural, Jah Yabbys Soundsystem, Blood and Fire Soundsystem with Country Culture. We've also supported artists from Desmond Dekker, Dubdadda, Nucleus Roots to Congo Natty, Topcat, Tenorfly, Roni Size and Andy C.
Speech by H.I.M Haile Selassie: Human Diversity
"The very diversity of the worlds peoples today constitutes one of mankind's great resources; the different philosophies with which nations approach their problems lead inevitably to a vast array of methods and techniques. These variations are necessary, for each people must find solutions which are responsive to its particular needs... each nation will inevitably pursue that course which appears best suited to its own unique characteristics, but no nation can pursue its course in isolation, and no nation can develop and prosper with its back turned to the rest of the world in terms of trade, techniques, resources and ideas. Each of us depends on the other, can learn from the other, and in pursuing it's own destiny will go further and succeed more quickly with others, Indeed, the free exchange of support and ideas is an essential condition to world understanding and equally to world progress."
