Dub:Rek Studios

Dubrek is a commercial recording studio and rehearsal rooms located in the centre of Derby in the East Midlands. Established in 2001, we've worked with well over 1000 artists encompassing a huge variety of genres and styles.

We specialise in recording bands, and our studio has been designed with exactly this in mind. The studio consists a fantastic sounding 450sq ft live room which is ideal for getting big ambient sounds (huge drums, guitars, strings… lots of natural reverb!) , a 200sq ft dead room for tight, dry sounds (drums, bass, guitars, percussion etc...) and a modest booth room which is perfect for vocals and acoustic instruments. We believe that great sounding spaces are one of the most important aspects to consider when making a recording.

Our recording setup consists of an all analog, 32 input mixing console with full EQ on every channel, running directly into a 24 track digital audio workstation along with a large selection of microphones and outboard effects. This allows us to focus on getting great sounds at the tracking stage, and our analog console adds important warmth that can often be missing from digital recording. This workflow helps us to ensure that mixing is as pain-free and creative as possible.
