Dubska to jeden z czolowych polskich zespolów reggae. Znani sa z nieszablonowego podejscia do tej muzyki, zarówno pod wzgledem muzycznym jak i tekstowym. W ich repertuarze obok witalnych, przebojowych piosenek znalezc mozna liryczne dub/reggae o eterycznym, nastrojowym charakterze.
To miedzy innymi dzieki temu, popularnosc Dubska, wykracza poza krag milosników reggae, czego dowodem jest obecnosc piosenek Dubska w radiowej Trójce, gdzie reggae gosci bardzo rzadko. „Avokado” – tytulowy utwór z ostatniej plyty zespolu przez kilka miesiecy znajdowal sie na liscie przebojów Trójki. Az trzy piosenki z tej plyty byly regularnie emitowane w Radio Bis („Avokado”, „Johny”, „Zycie na streecie”).
Muzyka Dubska trafila nawet do berlinskiej stacji Multikulti, która specjalizuje sie w promocji najciekawszych zjawisk z kregu world music z calego swiata oraz muzyki alternatywnej.
Grupa jest znana z rewelacyjnych, energetycznych koncertów. Ma za soba wystepy na niemal wszystkich liczacych sie festiwalach w Polsce.
Zespól Dubska powstal w Bydgoszczy w 1999 roku. Grupa nagrala w sumie 5 albumów (3 wydane wlasnym sumptem i dwa oficjalne albumy nakladem Mami Records).
DUBSKA DIVISION
Latem 2007 roku grupa nawiazala wspólprace z Gerbertem Moralesem, zwanym ojcem rosyjskiego reggae, zalozycielem i liderem kultowej rosyjskiej grupy Jah Division.
Wspólny muzyczny mial swoja premiere w sierpniu 2007 na Przystanku Woodstock i byl jednym z glównych punktów koncertowych tego festiwalu. Koncert zostal rewelacyjnie przyjety przez kilkaset tysiecy mlodych ludzi, na tym najwiekszym letnim festiwalu w europie srodkowo-wschodniej.
Gerbert Morales to moskiewski poeta, mistyk, rastaman. Nestor rosyjskiej sceny reggae. Jego piesni maja w sobie rosyjska nostalgiczna emocjonalnosc, jak i pozytywne przeslanie, oraz magie przypominajaca jamajskich mistrzów roots reggae. Urodzil sie w 1961 roku w rodzinie rosyjskiej arystokratki i kubanskiego rewolucjonisty, Leopolda Moralesa, który zginal w Boliwii walczac u boku Ernesto Che Guevary. I choc Gera Morales nigdy nie byl na Kubie i wlasciwie z Kuba wiaze go tylko genetyka, to w jego twórczosci zyje „duch rewolucji” – rewolucji duchowej, pozytywnych uczuc, wibracji, otwartosci i intelektu.

Dubska, a band formed in Bydgoszcz (POLAND) in 1999, is at the moment believed to be one of the best known reggae bands in Poland. They have so far released 5 albums, 3 of which were recorded at their own expense and 2 were officially published by Mami Records.
The band’s first official record, titled simply “Dubska”, was released in 2005 (Mami Records). Both the critics’ and the public’s reaction to this album was quite positive. The band’s most significant virtues are: characteristic style, two equal vocalists, splendid rhythm section as well as impressive wind section. Thanks to them the band is welcomed during concerts with open arms and is classified among the best reggae formations in Poland.
“Free Colours”, a reggae quarterly, placed in its second number the results of a plebiscite which sums up the year of 2005 concerning reggae stage in Poland and abroad. As a phonographic debut, Dubska band is listed among the finalists of three categories:
-The best Polish album
-The greatest Polish hope in music
-The best Polish album debut
At that time Dubska became very active as far as the concerts are concerned. The band took part in the majority of reggae festivals in Poland such as: ‘Africa’ in Torun, ‘Ostróda Reggae Festival’, ‘Winter Reggae’ in Gliwice, ‘Gorzyce Reggae Festival’, ‘Nie Zabijaj (Don’t Kill)’ in Olesno, ‘Reggae na Piaskach’ in Ostrów Wielkopolski, ‘Reggae nad Warta’ in Gorzów Wielkopolski and, above all, Woodstock in Kostrzyn nad Odra. Dubska also played concerts in Germany and Greece.
The band’s new album, “Avokado”, occured on the 9th of November, 2006 at Mami Records’ expense. It contains 11 premiere reggae numbers which are organised in a manner very characteristic for Dubska.
Promoting the new album, the song “Avokado”, as well as well-known from the concerts J.L.Hooker’s “Blues” with Michal Kielak (harmonica) participating as a guest, are among the above mentioned numbers. What is more, “Ile mil ( How many miles)”, the band Izrael’s song, is an extra surprise on the album.The album “Avokado” met with even better reception from the critics and people. In November, Dubska played several concerts all over Poland which were the part of “Avokado Tour” promoting the album. “Avokado” got a great number of flattering reviews. The band again was listed among the finalists of 3 categories of “Free Colours” which summed up the reggae stage in Poland and abroad in 2006.
