Shar-pei's are a very loyal breed and make wonderful companions. They are very easy to house train and are very smart. There are three different coat types in the breed. There is a hoarse coat which is a short hair and in our experience has a tendency to shed. The second is a brush coat which is a bit longer and has a tendency to shed much less as they do not have an undercoat. The third is a bear coat and is very rare. It is much longer like a chow and is not considered show quality.
You can have several different colors in shar-pei puppies. Right now we have fawn, red fawn, and sable colored pups. I am hoping to branch out in blues shortly which are a kind of slate color but in the right light can look blue.
