2007- Im Jahr des Löwen. Nun ist es endlich wieder soweit. 2007 brüllt Hamburgs Reggaelöwe dubtari im deutschen Großstadtdschungel. Mit dem dritten Album „Gebongt“ im Gepäck (VÖ März 2007, erschienen bei ZYX) startet die Hamburger Band dubtari zur neuen Konzertsaison. Die Schöpfer des „intercontinentaloffbeats“ beweisen auf ein Neues die Kraft des Hamburger Reggaeflavors. Die europäischen Großstadtlöwen lassen Reggae, Dancehall und Ska mit Stilelementen aus HipHop, Rock, World- und Jazzmusik verschmelzen. Ein fetter Bass, ordentlich Gebläse und treibende Beats verbinden sich mit dem LatinSoul der Frontfrau Quiandra, den Vocals des asiatischen Rastamans Syafril und dem rauen Sprechgesang des MC MarcoPhone. So entsteht eine urbane, immer tanzbare Musik. "Intercontinental" steht für die Herkunft der Bandmitglieder sowie deren musikalische Einflüsse: neben der Verehrung des jamaikanischen Reggae reichen sie vom britischen Ska, über südamerikanischen Salsa und karibischen Soca bis hin zu afrikanischen Rhythmen und indonesischen Melodien. Der Löwe brüllt in deutsch, spanisch, englisch und indonesisch.
