Sounds Like
Bob Marley in a blender with a Holden, a rubber chicken and a Salvation Army Band.
Dubyah is comprised of four music students (LJ, David, Pete, and Georgie), all studying in various levels at Whitirea Community Politechnic, and a not-music student (Josh, who likes drawing pretty pictures for us.).
It began when we were called together for one gig. LJ was asked to play some of her stuff, and she decided to get some people together to help her. We had one weeks notice, so we got ourselves into a room and didnt come out until we had four original songs under our belts. It turned out that we all had something to contribute, and we had a hell of a lot of fun doing it, so we just let it flow, and something new emerged - a sound we all had never heard before, but we all loved. Somewhere along the way, we made the decision to stick together after the gig was through, and Dubyah was born.
Our first gig was on the back of a truck in a public park. After Katchafire, some local hip-hop, and a metal band, we unleashed our four songs onto the unsuspectiong crowd.
All of our mums loved it.
