About me:

I was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on October 24th, 1981. I lived in Valdez, Alaska until 1984 when I moved to my parents hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. After living in New Orleans for a few years my Dad got a job in Buffalo, Texas. I don't remember much about Buffalo, except that we went to rodeo's almost every weekend. The next place I moved to was Hacoda, Alabama, I lived in Hacoda for one year before moving back to New Orleans. Upon moving back to New Orleans we moved to the Mid-City area where I attended Crossman and John Dibert Elementary schools, after my 6th grade year at John Dibert we moved out to Metairie, Louisiana where I attended J.D. Meisler Middle school for my 7th and 8th grade year. I also attended Grace King High school for the first 3 months of high school. On October 31st 1996 we moved to Chalmette, Louisiana. I've always had a strong interest in working and around the music industry, so during my Sophomore year at Chalmette High School I felt the urge to be the odd kid out and get an off the wall job, while most of the kids at my school were flipping burgers, I was the sidekick for Adam Smasher, the night show jock, on Mix 104.1. After interning for Adam and Jammer I moved over to 105.3 WLTS where I did weekends and worked in the office during the summer. WLTS was sold and I was let go. My next radio segue was 101.1 WNOE where I experienced my first "real" on-air shift. I worked there until December of 2001 when I was replaced by that thing you are reading this on. I then got a job selling insurance, that job sucked, but the money was awesome. After selling insurance for a few months, I quit to go work on the Steamboat Natchez as a deckhand, this job lasted very shortly because it wasn't for me, too many hours and not enough time to spend with friends and family. I have also had the awesome opportunity of working on a couple local concerts, such as, Voodoo Fest 2004, Jazz Fest, and French Quarter Fest as an audio assistant and stage hand. I was also a sound tech at various places, including at a bar on the famous Bourbon Street and at the Dixie Taverne. I used to be the Co-Owner/Business Relations Manager of The Local Music Experience http://www.NewOrleansBands.net, which featured over 500+ local musicians and tons of MP3's of local music to download. I decided I wanted to give back to the community what it has given to me over the years. In 2006 I was started working for WWL 870AM The News Talk & Sports Leader as a Programming Assistant/Show Producer, but was let go in March of 2009 due to the poor economy. Currently, I am the Manager of 504 Productions a local indie record label. Check out my website http://www.JoshTheVoice.com
