Our new Straight8 film premiered in Cannes on Wednesday 23rd May:
Hello out there.
I seem to spend a ridiculous amount of my time making films and running 'The Dude Abides' - the UK's Big Lebowski festival. Check out the little film below and the slideshow from the 2006 festival! For more check:

I just directed my first 'proper' short film called 'Breaker', which we funded by playing poker online! The film was shot in the early hours on the deserted streets of south London - check out the slideshow and trailer below and let me know what you think. We are hoping that the film will make it into some of the major international festivals around the world. Fingers crossed! You can find out more at:

I'm also a massive fan of straight8, the most hardcore back to basics film comp out there. They give you one cartridge of super8 to make a film on, you shoot everything in camera and submit it blind, with a soundtrack that you hope syncs up. Check it out: www.straight8.net
My last two straight8's are uploaded above.
Straight8 is one of those great ideas. It is a film competition that gives competitors a roll of super8... and that is it. You expose your cartridge by shooting a series of single take shots and submit it with an accompanying soundtrack on a CD, hoping that the two media make some kind of sense when put together. Hence the fruit from my straight8 loins:
Hometown Baghdad is a great series of bitesize documentaries about the lives of young Iraqis living in Baghdad. It was co-produced by a lovely guy I met in Berlin check it out:
wooop and yes, it's out now: the Lump200 album UNSIGNED
please feel free to comment, recommend etc. UNSIGNED is available on iTunes, finetunes etc. (world) and as CD (D/CH/A), please check your preferred shop
The A.M.O. film show is a new venture offering independent film makers from around the World the opportunity to have their films shown to the public over a 2 day weekend at a venue in Bath, UK. The first film show will be in January 2008.What we are looking for is submissions from film makers with any genre films from 5 mins to 90 mins in length. Films are submitted free of charge and there is no corporate sponsorship or judges other than the general public. The film show will be fully supported with regional promotion - program brochures, local press - plus international promotion via the web. Anyone wishing to submit their work please drop us a message for further info
Shot by legendary cinematographer Albert Maysles and directed by Jasmine Dellal, this dynamic musical documentary follows five Gypsy bands from four countries who unite for the Gypsy Caravan as they take their show around North America for a six-week tour, astounding every audience they meet. Their musical styles range from flamenco to brass band, Romanian violin to Indian folk. And with humour and soul in their voices, they celebrate the best in Gypsy culture.
