The top Rock groups of all time are The Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys, Kinks, Led Zep, The Who, and The Move. The pantheon of rock & roll also includes Elvis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and David Bowie. There's been a ton of groups since the mid seventies who have made valuable contributions but honestly, they do not have the level of greatness that these artists do.
And let me quickly say the Ravel was a bigger genius than any of the rock groups listed above.
And that Duke Ellington in 1927-28 was on a very high plane.
And that the world of music is unfathomably wide, that there is no end to the music waiting to be discovered.

Meet John Doe: for years I caught only the ending and assumed that it was maudlin, but thankfully I finally lucked into watching it from the beginning and WOW it is a knockout top tier movie and it's severely underated. It's really an incredible political film that doesn't sugarcoat the decrapitude of the unwashed masses, while at the same time the real power in society is depicted as belonging to an elite plutocracy - analogy to today, anyone? Frank Capra made it in the 1930's, it has a great ensemble cast and stars Barbara Stanwyck and Gary Cooper, and has classic cinematography.

Okay! Here is the deal!!
We need BANDS and ARTISTS (acoustic).
This is going on Saturday, Sept. 29th and Sunday, Sept. 30th. Time slots include for both SATURDAY and SUNDAY: 11am - 1pm 1pm - 3pm 3pm - 5pm
ACOUSTIC- you will be playing on the street in a designated area on the street (note - you can play more then one slot per day if you choose to.. you can also play BOTH days if you choose)
BANDS-you will also be assigned a designated area with a place to hook up electrically you MUST bring your own equipment.
Cafe Lu Lu will be supplying FREE LUNCH for the artists that play this event. The streets will be closed off and there will be FREE PARKING for the artists. You can sell your CD's and put out a guitar / hat / tip jar but WILL NOT be paid for this event.
