Collections of sound have been compiled since the musical inclinations of people were first established, and Duffy finds itself whole-heartedly engaging in that tradition.

Duffy is most comfortable conjuring up aural stimulations of yesteryear and paying homage to the undeniable music greats as well as the lesser-known prodigies. Often placed by fans in the same musical camp as Wilco and The Beatles, the members of the group are ready and willing to acknowledge inspiration from genres across the board, such as country, folk, alternative, rock, choral, symphonic and a host of others. "We have never tried to make a certain type of music,” observes singer-songwriter Eric Kehoe. “We just play and write what we enjoy.”

Duffy has been constructing a foundation on the solid tenants of harmony, rhythm, simplicity and passion since 2002. Now, just entering their twenties, the band has found themselves in a state of constant maturation, eagerly pursuing the creative ideas and inspirations that are provoked by self-saturation in the music of contemporaries and legends.

Released in January of 2008, Out of Doors is the natural culmination of this musical sojourn, but also the bedrock for another beginning. The first full-length album for Duffy, Out of Doors coherently relates the story of the present day in terms and melodies that mean something significant to both the creator and audience. “The album is a means of communicating. Not to an elite group of people, but to any person in any place who is willing to listen… it invites the listener to invest in its music; deconstructing it and reassembling it... ultimately appreciating it for its message, its acknowledgement of the past, its anticipation of the future, and its keen perception of the present.”

Comprised of Eric Kehoe, pianist Bill Kahler, bassist Joe Robert, and percussionist Joe Girolamo, and now with an LP under their belt, Duffy has been able to play extensively around the Great Lakes region, most notably bringing their show to Clutch Cargos in Pontiac, MI and The Intersection of Grand Rapids, MI. The group is intent on taking their good vibes and thoughtful tunes to whomever may have want or need of them; enhancing the spirit, enlightening the mind, and keeping the toes tapping.
