About me: My full name is Charles Patrick Dugan and I am fully retired from three places: 1) United States Marine Corps (http://geocities.com/operationunion/) , 2) Law Enforcement and 3) Education. I was born August 14, 1946 in Del Rio, Texas where I still live. My family has lived here since 1882 and my love of the Mexican-American border and its people is immense. My Great-Grandfather was a Texas Ranger, My Grandfather was a Border Sheriff and I was raised in an environment of guns and violence.
I go by three monikers or nicknames. My Grandfather (Pappo) named me "PitBull" (His spelling), "Animal" was my nickname in the Marine Corps and " Dugalito" by all my childhood Mexican American friends and was used when I boxed. I go by all three!
My Dad flew into Del Rio on a B-26 Marauder Bomber and married my Mom and never left again. My Dad was a highly decorated Army Air Force Veteran of WWII and a boxer and weightlifter (Philly Boxer) I had no choice in what I was going to do!
I was a Golden Gloves Boxer (Started at 12 years old), in college and the Marine Corps with a win/loss of 79 wins and 1 loss by split decision (I was NEVER knocked down in the ring) I was also heavily involved in Sport Judo and earned a 1st Degree Black Belt.I had a perfect record and was never defeated in Sport Judo. I was a Powerlifter with personal bests of a 420 pound bench-press, 760 pound Squat and a 550 pound Deadlift. All without steroids or "Special" lifting shirts and suits.
I served in Vietnam 1966-1967 as a Combat Marine Machine Gunner (M-60) and later became the youngest SERE Inst. in the Marine Corps. SERE is Survival, Escape, Resistance to Interrogation and Evasion. I taught Recon Marines until 1991 and re-wrote the 0321 Recon Manual on Land Navigation.
I was born to be a Marine, lived a Marine and will die a Marine. A Marine till Death and Beyond!
