Shawn Salters aka EmergeX is one of the top Southwest music producers in the game.
His style is uncanny and based solely on his mood, “at the moment” drawing inspiration from his surrounding and current events. He produces “Beatz” in many genres favoring Hip Hop, Jazz and RnB. EmergeX is no stranger to the entertainment arts; He started making music mixes on tapes as a South High; high school student, in Youngstown, Ohio, Blastin his mixes on his boombox, while walking, with a crowd, to and from school. Later; showing his skills by DJing at family and friend events throughout the summer months.
Shawn also know as “Salt” during his military carrier continued DJing while stationed in El Paso Texas in the late 80’s. In addition, while stationed at Ft Bliss; Salt hooked up with people that shared his creativity with music and begin composing music with 3 keyboards; drum machine, mixer a mic and a dual tape deck. Sitting in the barracks for hours on end with a room full of people having a “Jam Session” is how Salt spent most of his weekend days; nights, were spent club hopping or DJing House Parties.
After serving in Desert Storm Salt exited the Army with Honors and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he settled down in marriage razing three of his five children. Ten years passed before he knew it, dabbling with music less often than he wanted to, Salt found himself in a failing relationship with his wife and decided to “opp-out.” While out shopping one evening, Salt came across a Computer Music Program called “MAGIX DELUX” and purchased it. Within a month, Salt composed his first jazzy song called “After Hours Groove” and posted to the MAGIX web site. That song, and others, can still be downloaded and heard on MakeTunes web site.
With a great response to that song, Salt went on to do others and joined MySpace.
Salt saw how people could promote themselves and their music on line. He then created his own Myspace Music Page originally under the named “Dukecity Hustlers” later changed it to EmergeX meaning; his Emergence back out to his first love; “MUSIC” after TEN years of silence.
Salt; now know as “EmergeX” continues to drop HOT Tracks on several Internet Communities. He enters his “BEATZ” into every type of contest he becomes aware of, ranging from the Video Gamming industry, TV commercials adds to Movie and TV soundtracks, gaining positive feedback and experience to his hobby. EmergeX calls it his “hobby” because; he is employed as a Mechanical Design Drafter full time and until making music out pays his current career; it will remain his “Expensive Hobby.”
EmergeX also uses his Beatz and Time to recording artist in his community that has the talent but not the funds to pursue their dreams as a recording artist. Feel free to talk to him, to work out an arrangement. He is available through out the week…. NOT Weekends! Friday through Sunday are reserved for his teenagers.
EmergeX is a diamond in the ruff and soon will be a contributing factor in the music business. Do not underestimate this Player; he is on a mission! …and that’s a rap!!!
