Members can be any enthusiastic Traditional musicians who play the Dulcimer or any other form of Zither, especially those who live in the UK & Ireland. However, I am keen to encourage all European players, of any members of the Zither family, to join up & teach us about their chosen instrument. ............................................................................................................................ The Dulcimer Players Forum (UK & Ireland) is dedicated to bringing Dulcimer players of the UK, Ireland & the rest of Europe closer together. If you are a Dulcimer player already or a musician who is interested in Dulcimers, or perhaps simply a musical enthusiast who loves the sound of the Dulcimer, then I hope you will be interested enough to want to become a member of this new Forum. As a member of this forum you will be able to contribute to the information stored here and join in the discussions or perhaps even initiate some of the discussions yourself. My hope is that this new forum will be a way for Dulcimer enthusiasts, of Ireland & the UK in particular, to simply keep in touch with each other and make new Dulcimer friends. However, I am well aware that there are thousands & thousands of skilled and enthusiastic Dulcimer players in many other countries, all around the World in, for example, the rest of Europe, North America & Canada, and I hope that some of those experts and enthusiasts will also be interested enough in the Dulcimer scene over here, to want to become members here, too. N.B. This forum may well turn out to be a good vehicle for touring Dulcimer players from here, and elsewhere, to promote their UK & Irish tours and reach local Dulcimer players and Club/ Venue organisers too.

Thank's for the request! I used to have a dulcimer of my own (about twenty years ago) but unfortunately never really had time to learn it.. Best wishes, Arja
Happy New Year to the Dulcimer Players Forum from Miss Crystal and the Codgers in Missouri USA. We play old time music on claw hammer banjo, hammer Dulcimer, mountain Dulcimer, guitar and fiddle. How cool that you are having the old time music too. We play mostly fiddle tunes form the 1800's so we love your site. Miss Crystal
Thanks for the add. Always room for another dulcimer at the session. Enjoy your site and seeing related instruments and players, actually seeing what one had only read about in a book.
Hiya! Thanks for building such a great page, for educating and organizing, and especially for keeping myspacians informed of all the interesting things that you are doing at DPF. Keep those buggers tuned. All the best- Siochain leat- Pádraig + www.myspace.com/celtmann (aka "Briar Bridge Hammered Dulcimers" since 1980) -
Thanks for adding me as a friend. I'm an accordion player who has played with a hammered dulcimer player for over 25 years. We used to have a band called Queen Anne's Lace, then we had a second band called Magic Forest. Now we're back playing dances again with our new name "QuickSteppe"; we're usually playing around the Pittsburgh or Cleveland areas, but will travel for the right price. Nice to see a few old friend here.

Thanks so much, Dick! I can't believe it took me so long to start looking for other HD players on line to begin with! The last few days have given me more inspiration than I've had in a long time. I'll be checking out that forum directly. Thanks again! Gayle
Hello Dick, Thanx for commenting on my page. It's a pleasure for me to join your Forum too as hummered dulcimer and gusli do belong to one family of the instruments! And no, I actually started playing at 8, so not any Mozart thing really! :)
