Dressing badly, rocks, cards, Latin and Greek classics, pretending I can sing, pretending I can dance, false modesty, abandoning false modesty and telling everyone how awesome I really am, managing somehow to be a sexy beast in spite of all this. And, of course, following the adventures of the great, great Strong Bad.
Music
I take my lead from rock music, but I meander a little, and sometimes a lot. I take my rock with a roll, my rhythm with the blues, there's a hop on my hip, my punks are all immigrants and I dig anything that does cool things with a saxophone, trumpet, squeeze box or bagpipe ... basically, anything that has a suitable sense of Nietzsche's "Dionysiac" will usually please. I feel that it is best epitomised in the music of the great, great Strong Bad.
Movies
We like them with lots of sharp teeth and blood... favourites outside of that rather broad umbrella include everything Matt Stone and Trey Parker ever touched, Fight Club, Velvet Goldmine, Wallace And Gromit, most other Nick Park stuff, the Ninth Gate, anything epic with big big fight scenes (Like Lord Of The Rings, kids). And, of course, the Dangeresque trilogy, starring the great, great Strong Bad
Television
Stuff that can be episodic and continuous at the same time. A bit like Buffy was before it hit the skids, and Next Gen. Star Trek (moreso than any other incarnation made since). Big time love indeedy goes to South Park, South Park anda bit more South Park. Oh, and the Mighty Boosh. And Tom and Jerry. Except I always want Tom to win. And, of course, the email featurettes of the great, great Strong Bad.
Books
Anything Greek, anything Roman, anything in the Grail cycle. Anything that is sold in the shop next to the railway station and has a nice colourful cover. German language tutor books, Vertigo or Batman type comics. And, of course, I'd love to get hold of anything written by the great, great Strong Bad.
Heroes
King Duncan II of Scotland, MacDuff, Orestes, Lancelot, Gawain, Perceval, Dindrane. Mousikins Lemmywinks Duncan III (such a brave mouse. Gone but not forgotten). All the conscientious objectors of the world and, conversely, anyone who fights the good fight (whatever that is). And, of course, the great, great Strong Bad.
You've made your own rules in life - and sometimes that catches up with you.
Winding a web of deceit comes naturally, and no one really knows the true you.

Who I'd like to meet: Myself, just to see how I would see myself from an outside perspective. And also because I'd love to get a good view of them mighty fine assets without the aid of a mirror. Aside from that: People are great. I love people. People who can't see the woods for the trees. People who can. Quiet people. Loud people. Somebodies. Nobodies. People who can't figure out whether or not they're somebody. People who noticed the grammatical error in the title of this section of the profile. People who didn't but care enough about correct diction to ask themselves (or me) what I'm talking about here. People who don't use textspeak (or "fuckwit", as I like to call it). Having said that, I tend to ignore blind adds and have blocked all adds from bands. Talk to me, it's the polite thing to do.
And, of course, I would love to meet the great, great Strong Bad.
Following a highly successful and acclaimed european tour in 2008, PANTHEIST will be making their first ever headlining appearance in London on March 7th, at the Camden Unicorn. This will be a FREE ENTRY show, and will see the band performing a one-off extended 90-minute set comprising their entire new album "Journey Through Lands Unknown", plus selected tracks off both their previous albums.
Support comes from London expansive, leftfield Black Metal act CROM DUBH in their first ever live appearance, making this an event not to be missed.
Journey Through Lands Unknown" is out now on Firebox records, having received overwhelmingly positive reactions from publications such as Terrorizer (7. 5/10) and Metal Hammer (8/10) in the UK and internationally (voted in the 2008 top 10 albums in Spain&'s Friedhof Magazine). The album is available from the band directly, all good major retailers, and in forthcoming shows.
Ta for the blog comment. It's my understanding that the law on homosexuality in the armed forces has had to be amended in line with the Human Rights Act. Certainly I would expect it to have been. Wikipedia provides partial enlightenment.
My Valentine's was wonderful - I got flowers at work! Big surprise for me. And he cooked me dinner at home (who in the right mind goes out on Valentine's?) Sorry yours was dull! :P
Thanks for this latest bestowal of 'subs gem' status. I must admit I was probably unconsiously motivated by the desire to garner another one. After all, not many people read my writing in print...
I was wondering if you'd received it. I saw that in a shop, spent about ten minutes laughing maniacally, then was asked by the shopkeeper if I was going to buy it because I was scaring the other customers.
