About Duncan May & The Resonators
Header Banner Made with MyBannerMaker.com! Click here to make your own! .. .. .. Duncan May and the Resonators play a funky-soulful-energy driven Rock. Eclectic improvisation and acoustic pop sometimes make an appearance at a venue but the vibe is one of groove oriented melody and boogie. The five albums that Duncan has released reveals the many sides of his songwriting. From the innovative, fusion-jazz album from RUB in 1994 to the three-piece high energy rock sound of Bacchus in 2000, to the personal solo albums (2002) then finally to the most current recordings with Nashville's own talented The Resonators (2007). The band now is Duncan May on bass and an occasionally guitar, Scott Hall on guitar, Curt Redding on Drums, Tony Richardson on percussion and the occasional bass. The new album, Duncan May & The Resonatros, has a blend of tempos, flavors and dynamics but it is a rock collection. Duncan's vocals are emotional and the lyrics poetic, personal but universal. This combination brings out the progressive side of this sometimes aggressive ("Swamp Rock"), sometimes mellow ("Polished Folk-Pop") music. About the Band: Duncan May has been "fronting" bands for over ten years on guitar and bass and switches between the two in this arrangement. Scott Hall has a masters degree in guitar and spent years with a Murfreesboro giant of a band called SIGNAL. Fresh from Boulder, CO. he joined the band last year and his incredible talent has taken the music to new heights. Tony Richardson plays tasty percussion and easily moves to bass when needed. He played with The Rainfellas before becoming a staple in the lineup. Curt Redding has amazed crowds on the drums for years with the likes of legendary Johnny Neel and Mile8 and has just recently joined the band to complete the sound. The new album was recorded at DHR Studios in Nashville by local sound doctor Jason Swarts. The album known as "Tomato Rescue" is a mix of Swamp Rock/Acoustic Pop/Eclectic Americana. Some hard-hittin' funky stuff, latin melody-driven declarations and eclectic acoustic rock capture the band's versatility and style. WWW.DUNCANMAY.COM

Hey friends, just wanted to let you know about our show at 3rd & Lindsley tonight, May 23rd. We'll be playing with 2 great bands. The Steepwater Band from Chicago and Nashville's own Black Honey. The last time we played with Steepwater it was absolutely ragin', and I expect this one to be better. They're fresh off of a European tour and ready to rock. See y'all there. The Last Straw
