   About Rob Dunsford

Rob appearing on 'Shared' compilation album

Rob appears on a compilation album 'Shared' with Miles Hunt & Erica Nockalls (Wonder Stuff), Wayne Hussey (The Mission), Dirty Ray (Immaculate Fools), Timothy Parkes and Matthew Derrick. The album will be available for download from early August 2009 but physical copies can be purchased from me or by mail-order at www.irl.org.uk.

Reviews/Quotes

"Rob Dunsford's 'Millionaire' sounds inordinately like Liam Dullaghan's band The Have-Nots in the bittersweet blend of male and female vocals, but it's the slightly fuller sound of 'Dashboard Therapy', helped immensely by the accordion, which really catches my attention. There's someone else in there who he reminds me of a little, it may well be Rob from The Voluntary Butler Scheme, but that'll come to me in time. It's not as if I won't be listening to these tracks again, as a quick look at last.fm will tell you!"

'Uber' @ http://acrossthegreatdivide.blogspot.com/

"Soft voiced Scottish born Rob Dunsford cites Thompson and Martyn as prime influences and writes playful confessional songs that underline his traditional folk and blues inclinations, Don't Go To The Other Side of the World revealing a spry sense of humour and Dashboard Therapy borrowing its tune from Froggy Went A'Courting."

Mike Davies @ www.netrhythms.com

"Rob Dunsford was next, this time augmented by accordion & female backing vocal & won me over with this approach" ... "The melancholic ‘Millionaire’ showcases his velvety voice perfectly, and in ‘Dashboard Therapy’ (“We drive all night & sleep all day” – as a friend observed, “How very nocturnal of you”), he has one of the day’s & albums highlights. Rob again has played at The Horseshoe many times & I most certainly look forward to catching him again soon (if he sticks around the area long enough, that is – please do, Rob)."

Bryan Taylor

"Rob Dunsford's 'Dashboard Therapy' - song of the year for me"

Rusty Shackleford 'Chumpski'

"He has written a love song that will make all other love songs curtsie in it's presance, plus a whole bunch of other fantastic tunes... a very talented song writer!"

SqueezeInPresents

"Rob Dunsford has possibly written two of the best songs I've ever heard, a friend of mine & quite possibly a genius, his songs "Don't Go To The Otherside of The World" (with the amazing line "You know that you've got problems when a girl puts an entire planet inbetween her & you") and "Dashboard Therapy" (which now makes entire venues stop, stare, tap along & even sing along) are going to make him a lot bigger at festivals in the summer, with help from Eric Heath on the Accordian/Melodeon he is just a down-to-earth kinda guy playing his guitar & singing about his life, make sure you check him out...."

Greetings

Thank you and welcome....

"Behind Closed Eyes...
...colors fade and blend into new creations...fate is left at the door of imagination...places new and amazing...faces remain unseen...

...how then does our heart feel as if it is racing in the anticipation of a dream...

...let your mind begin a journey...a voyage...leave all thoughts of the world as you knew behind you...

...close your eyes and allow yourself to soar...

...live as you have never lived before..."

Shine on...
Julian.

hello!
yes, it definitly has a weird vibe that festival. I didnt rate the stage at all, the crowd were really subdued, and the whole thing felt really badly organised - the staff didnt really even seem to know i was playing, there were no tickets put aside for me or anything on the gate :S
oh well, i had an awesome evening after i played, i wish id been to the rest of the festival now!
How was your set?its a shame i didnt get to see you!

Cool. Also I meant to ask you. My friend is putting on a bbq and has got bands playing all day on Sunday 9th August. He is desperate for a couple of acoustic acts. Didn't know if you'd fancy it. It's a bit of a gathering and should be quite a few people there as there are about 7 acts playing. It's by Newtown and payment is in food and some beers. I entirely understand why you migh not want to but when he said acoustic acts you were the one I thought of. I love your stuff.
