Early 1993 Tuija said - " could we establish quartet and sing jazz ". After this phrase we search two singers more. Few weeks later we had quartet and we started practice really, really hard. That happened in JYVÄSKYLÄ middle of Finland. This jazz quartet got a name called " SOUND SESSION ", two women and two men. Our obvious role model was and is Manhattan Transfer but list of role models is long. Take 6, New York voices, Singers Unlimited, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Anita Baker, Bobby Mcferrin, Chic Corea, Oscar Peterson, Marian Petrescu, Mihail Petrescu, Michel Petrucciani few to mention. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This quartet studied with MARIAN and MIHAIL PETRESCU in their school from 1993 -1999. Tapsa practiced jazz piano too with MARIAN PETRESCU from 1993 to 1999 in Jyväskylä. Before that he has mainly classic piano studying.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After 1999 quartet broke down and Tuija and Tapsa started to sing together with bands. Soon we started do gigs also with duo where Tapsa played piano and Tuija sang. This way was born DUO SESSION. 2005 we moved from middle of Finland to near Pori (remember PORI JAZZ FESTIVAL) because Tuija was born in ULVILA near PORI and she wanted move back.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2006 we played in PORI JAZZ FESTIVAL Jazz Street restaurant whole week. 2007 the same and 2008 we are doing agreement with that restaurant and we'll see there again. In january 2008 Tapsa and Tuija started to study music with VITALI IMERELI.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In may of 2008 we did record with GROUP SESSION QUINTET where plays:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TUIJA MARJAKOSKI voc,
TAPANI KORPELA piano,
JÖRGEN SMEBY bass,
SAMI KONTOLA drums,
JANTSO JOKELIN harmonica.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This cd is coming out soon. Here in myspace you have little taste of that now and later more.

“Dance”
“The expression of love, grace an elegance A movement of intimacy, empowerment, romance Riding the crest of an ocean wave Gliding through the air on a breezy day My body on Earth my soul reaches away To Heaven. The religion of rhythm A moth to a candle A key to a slave of Pleasure and pain I take my first emancipated steps Freedom This is my chance. That’s where I go When I Dance.”

"Siren Song - Live at Arsenal" is Elisabeth Kontomanou's latest album, recorded with a philharmonic orchestra brilliantly carrying and magnifying the captivating voice of the "great lady" of Jazz.
Album now available on iTunes and Qobuz (Plus Loin Music / Harmonia Mundi)
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
