The guitar duo of Cecilia Siqueira (Uruguay) and Fernando Lima (Brazil) is completing six years of existence.
They began this work in the end of 2002, one year after having shared the 1st prize as soloists, in the II
International Guitar Competition PRO MUSICA/SESC, in Caxias do Sul (RS - Brazil). Since the beginning, the duo is
receiving exceptional critics, having a quickly national and international projection and today is considered one of
the most important Brazilian chamber groups. Having recorded two CDs, being the last one, Lado a Lado (Side by Side),
dedicated to the Brazilian music, with their own arrangements of great popular composers themes, like Cesar Camargo
Mariano, Dominguinhos, João Bosco, Gilson Peranzzetta, Sivuca, Hermeto Paschoal, Pixinguinha, Pattapio Silva among
others. In November 2007 they had their seventh tour in Europe where “Debut” in the National Concert Hall in
Dublin-Ireland and in the Cultural Arts Center in Saint Petersburg-Russia. The Duo international carrier includes
concerts in countries like Uruguay, Spain, Italy, England, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland, Belarus,
and Russia. From places and events in Brazil and exterior we can cite the followings: Conversa de Músico Program (TV
Senado, Brasilia); II International Guitar Meeting (Tatuí-SP); Municipal Theatre of Araraquara (SP); Pedro II Theatre
(Ribeirão Preto-SP); Souza Lima Guitar Festival, Judean Culture Centre and São Paulo Arts Museum - MASP (São
Paulo-SP); International Festival Abel Carlevaro (Montevideo-Uruguay); Hondarribia Guitar Festival (Hondarribia -
Spain); Festival de Guitare de Lausanne (Lausanne- Switzerland); Palazzina Liberty (Milano-Italy); "Ësterhaze" Castel
(where Joseph Haydn lived- Fertöd- Hungary); Congresowa Palace (Warsaw-Poland); Festival of World Cultures, Bank of
Ireland and National Concert Hall (Dublin-Ireland), Arts Centre Theatre (Minsk-Belarus); International Musical
Festival (Kaluga - Russia); and Jazz Festival (Saint Petersburg - Russia). The duo has studied with the professor
Henrique Pinto, as well as with Paulo Martelli and Fábio Zanon. In the eclectic repertoire of the group, besides
original works, we can find transcriptions and arrangements of an immense variety of compositors from the Baroque
till the Popular Brazilian Music. This repertory consists of great works like some Preludes and Fugues from the
Well-Tempered Clavier by J. S. Bach, Sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti, as well as pieces from the Choro’s universe, with
composers like Pixinguinha, Waldir Azevedo, etc. For this versatility and serious work, the duo was cited in the
Violão Pro magazine (November 2007), as “a great revelation of the Brazilian guitar”. Publications and critics: “The

O trabalho do Duo Siqueira Lima está atraindo a atenção de músicos e críticos no Brasil e no exterior pela excelência de seu trabalho. Bebendo diretamente na fonte latino-americana, sobretudo a brasileira, Cecilia e Fernando – juntos desde 2002- têm visto seu trabalho sobressair-se, em função especialmente da originalidade que imprimem ao repertório, desde a escolha das obras até a forma de execução.
O duo nasceu após haverem dividido o primeiro prêmio como solistas no “Concurso Internacional de Violão Pró Música/SESC”, em Caxias do Sul (RS-Brasil) no ano de 2001, orientados por uma das maiores figuras do violão brasileiro, o professor Henrique Pinto.
Com dois discos gravados e seis anos de carreira internacional, eles já se apresentaram nos Estados Unidos, Uruguai, Itália, Espanha, Inglaterra, França, Irlanda, Áustria, Suíça, Hungria, Polônia, Ucrânia, Bielorússia e Rússia. Entre salas e eventos mais importantes estão: Palácio Kongresowa (Varsóvia-Polônia); International Musical Festival (Kaluga-Rússia); Jazz Festival (São Petersburgo-Rússia), Festival de Guitare de Lausanne (Lausanne-Suíça), National Concert Hall (Dublin-Irlanda), Sala de Música de Câmara de Kiev e Sala Tchaikovsky em Livov, (Ucrânia).
Em 2008 tiveram a imensa satisfação de iniciarem, junto a um dos mais respeitados músicos do Brasil - o grande clarinetista e maestro Paulo Moura - o projeto Sul/Sur, relendo na formação de duo de violões e clarinete obras de Radamès Gnattali e Astor Piazzolla. A Estréia foi feita no SESC Vila Mariana em São Paulo e recebida com grande entusiasmo por músicos e pela platéia em geral.
