DURBAN are a five piece band hailing from Sheffield goin from strength to strength after a fantastic year in 07 seeing them support sell out gigs with the likes of Air Traffic, Tom Hingeley (Inspiral Carpets) , Passenger & The complete Stone Roses.

Playing a blend of guitar rock music with psychedelic tinges, Durban are an original 5-piece band from Sheffield. Currently in pre-production and are due to visit the seclusion of Foel studios in mid-Wales. With several demos already completed this is the first recording with additional guitarist Flava Dave.
Gigging is always a priority & towards maintaining the bands profile playing venues such as Sheffield Academy2, Leadmill & the Camden Barfly. Durban have just been included in a Darnall Music Factory album ‘Sheffield Raw’ a new compilation of some good bands from the steel city which features their new track, the bands name is being kept at the forefront of the vibrant Sheffield music scene.

"The Bad Shepherds play punk songs on folk instruments. Not as a gag, but because we really like the noise. We think the songs are better than people remember. We love folk instruments. It works.
We do songs by The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Stranglers The Jam, Sham 69, The Undertones, Talking Heads, Squeeze and others, even Kraftwerk! Alright, they're not all punk, but they come from roughly the same era.
We've mostly given the songs a kind of Celtic feel, and we've stuck in the odd reel and jig here and there. But occassionally we just thrash! I've always thought the excitement of a reel taking off is the nearest thing to the excitement of watching punk live in the 70's."
