Durera were a four piece band from Swindon, UK. Since forming in the Summer of 2006 they enjoyed sell out shows at local venues as well as numerous gigs around the country, including a number of support slots with I Am Kloot.
Origionally a studio project with Gaz, top producer Eric Kupper and Fat Fox Music, Durera has now become an extension of this.
As a band Durera are influenced by a range of music. Anything from Radiohead to Biffy Clyro, Jimmy Eat World to The Manics, Metallica to The Cure. But the boys are commonly influenced by the simple desire to make great songs that connect with the listener musically, lyrically and emotionally. A deliberate move away from the riffs and solo's driven sound of the boys previous musical projects in punk and metal bands, combined with return to basic chord structure, strong melodies and honest lyrics is what keeps Durera one of the freshest and best bands around in a climate of ident-i-kit indie bands.
Durera played their last gig at 2008's Swindon Shuffle event. The headline slot in their old stomping ground, The Furnace, Swindon, went down a storm and was a great way to end two years of gigging.
