   DUSA Film Society's Blurbs
About me:
We are filmmakers, filmgoers, critics, writers and other artists who want to develop our skills. We are also film lovers who just like to watch good movies in a social environment. The DUSA Film Society will bring students together to write, make and perform in short films; hold free film screenings, discussions and other events; and regularly publish students' film articles and reviews. This club aims to assist us in seeing our work on screen and in print before we graduate!
Who I'd like to meet:
Deakin University students. We are based at Burwood campus in Melbourne, but we welcome external students and those at Deakin's other campuses. If you are a student at Deakin University and are interested in finding out more about this club, send your inquiries to: dusa-film-society@deakin.edu.au.

I'll be going to see DEMONSEED, directed by Donald (PERFORMANCE) Cammell - screening as part of the MELBOURNE UNDERGROUND FILM FESTIVAL - with a group of my friends. If anyone wishes to head along and join us, they're welcome to. The film is described in the MUFF program as, "... classic 70's horror that explores the metaphysical ramifaications of being fucked by an alien." It's sure to be a distinguished event. It's on at 7pm this Tuesday at the Rooftop Cinema (Level 6, 252 Swanston Street). Drop me a line via MYSPACE if you're interested.

Hey guys just thought i'd post this. i'm thinkin bout goin to "focus on Guillermo Del Toro" at ACMI between april 12 and 22. Thought you guys might be interested. He's the director of Pan's Labrynth, Hellboy, Blade 2 and they'll be showing some of his other stuff. it should be very cool. more info at www.acmi.net.au. we could possibly organise a big group of us to go or something and that would be cool. let me know, cheers.

I'm gonna go ahead and suggest the next screening (after the double-feature one) has 'The Big Lebowski' as an option.
That movie is pure awesome and not enough people have seen it.

If you're a Deakin student and love movies, join the DUSA Film Society! We rock so much, sometimes we worry if we rock too much - but then we remember 'Hey, if we didn't rock as much as we do, we wouldn't rock at all!'.

You can rock too.
