Dustin began his acoustic journey roughly 5 years ago. He first picked up the electric guitar at age 12, and has played in a handful of bands since his high school days. He has recorded 5 acoustic albums, and has plans for another in the near future. Dustin has performed over 350 live shows and continues to master the acoustic act along with captivating his live audience. So, "what's a Dustin Burley show like" you ask? Well, just about everything and anything that's possible with one man and an acoustic guitar. It's not your typical acoustic act where you basically get one style of music along with a repetitive setlist. Oh no, anytime you catch a show more than once, you can be sure of catching a fresh set with some different flavors thrown in. He’s constantly writing new material, already compiling over 100 original songs. He has over 200 cover tunes that he throws into the mix as well. When playing to an audience with an open mind and an appreciation for improvisation, expect to see some musical exploration where you might get a few songs or even a complete set of weaving and segueing in and out of each other without a pause in between. He also has that rare ability to put his own flare on cover songs and make them his own. Dustin is a bar/club owners dream, being able to read and feed off the audience and put on the type of show that they would prefer to see and hear. It’s hard to classify exactly what genre of music Dustin falls in, or the type of crowd he draws because of his diverse styles of music and influences. If it's a college and hippie type crowd, expect to hear more complex and instrumental driven originals along with some Grateful Dead, Phish, Marley (to name just a few) covers that they'd prefer to hear. More of a trendy top 40 type of crowd? No problem, Dustin has quite a few original songs that easily fit the bill along with some popular covers of the past and present. A crowd that prefers a harder/grunge sound you ask? Dustin will play his more edgey upbeat originals along with some covers of bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, which are some of his earliest influences. You might even get a little Country or Hip-Hop thrown in there as well. Always expect to hear a new tune thrown into the mix, and occasionally a “bust out” song that hasn't been played in months or even years! “Always a good time, but never the same time” would be his slogan if he was actually cheesy enough to have one! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dustin's new band venture "THE REN" is up and gigging the local bar scene in western PA email the same addresses for more info website is under construction...The band is playing and writing original material as we speak and also is covering acts like (The Dead, Phish, Dispatch, Ween, Talking Heads, OAR, Frank Zappa, Marley, Dylan, Hip Hop remakes, Prince, and anything you can get down to!!!!) Not wanting to be labled as a jamband even though the band jams on, They'd rather go for just being a proggressive rock band with a jam/psychedelic twist!!!

Dustin's live shows are now available for everyone to download at bt.etree.org in FLAC format. Just go to bt.etree.org and do a simple search for Burley. As of now 06-14-06 Sets I II and 04-04-07 Sets I II are being served. We are aiming at putting up 2-3 shows per week. I posted a blog with more info, links and I'll post when a new show is uploaded and being served. Post your questions about bittorent and FLAC in this blog, and feel free to discuss the shows as well.

Just checking in, and giving you an update on where I stand with the recording of my debut record.
We have recorded all of the instrumental tracks, and most of the vocals. I was lucky enough to collaborate with a group of amazing musicians, and things are starting to sound awesome!!!
I hope to have all of the recording complete by mid March; leaving mixing, mastering and duplication to be done.
If all goes well, the record should be released sometime in April.
Grrr Sweetheart! We want to come see ya but you have to update your list. Ugh don't make me come into Cingular <oh sorry at&t> and kick your ass lol. Let me know hun. =)
