Dustin Childs is an innovative singer/songwriter with a musical sound and lyrical content that is incomparable to any other artist currently roaming the landscape of popular music.
With an uncanny ear for catchy melodies and a knack for lyrics that reveal the more vulnerable aspects of his personality, Dustin is poised on the threshold of widespread critical and commercial acclaim.
Dustin grew up on a 500-acre farm in Ta Ta Creek, British Columbia, a humble pulp mill town outside the Rocky Mountain area of British Columbia, Canada. At the age of five, he was performing onstage alongside his mother, charming audiences with his idiosyncratic versions of mainstream radio hits. By the age of 14, he had taught himself how to play the guitar, and was writing his own compositions.
At the age of 21, Dustin left the interior of British Columbia, Canada, as one half of an acoustic duo with his best friend Cas McCrea. They also left a massive impression in the wake of their performances.
Dustin had the opportunity to play his original compositions on the widely viewed morning program Breakfast TV. After leaving Halifax to travel west, Dustin was also featured on Wired TV, a popular television program in Calgary geared towards showcasing local talent.
At the age of 29, he is now crafting infectious pop music that resonates with all audiences, young and old. Dustin has relocated to Vancouver BC in order to advance his musical career. Armed with his newly recorded demo, he is determined to attract both music fans and industry professionals in order to achieve his goals.
Dustin’s inspiration comes from the likes of people he has met, experiences he has had, and most importantly, his mother, who has supported him throughout his often turbulent life experiences. Artists such as Avril Lavigne, David Usher, and The Beatles play a prominent role in influencing his artistic vision. Dustin’s songwriting and vocal styling is imaginative, raw, and waiting to be discovered.
