Dustin Jones brings a program which features a fusion of original music and classical guitar. His compositions are heavily influenced by Rock, New Age, Latin and Classical styles. Dustin has been a serious student of the classical guitar since 1991 and has studied with many renown teachers of the genre. Throughout his High School and early 20's he pursued electric guitar during which time he formed a metal band called "Shadow" with friend Steve Capps.
Shadow cycled through several singers and drummers and then stabilized its membership in 1996 and played with that line-up for 2 years which concluded with a regional tour of Arizona.
From 1999 - 2006 Dustin contracted with local music stores teaching guitar and working with over 65 students a week. His teaching success also landed him an invitation to teach a guitar course at Pima Community College at that time.
In 2006 he joined forces with Spanish Fusion guitarist Domingo DeGrazia and played lead guitar for the acclaimed "San Carlos" CD. In 2007 he played with the locally renown Flamenco Rock group, “Tesoro” for a year.
His debut CD “Neskowin” (released in 2006) is a tribute to his fond memories of the Oregon Coast where he spent many summers of his childhood. Neskowin explores the reflective and ambient influences of the traditional classical guitar repertoire.
