Influences
Lately I've been listening to Mark Turner, Warne Marsh, Happy Apple, Kurt Rosenwinkel, John Ellis, Dosh, Rich Perry, Robert Glasper, Stan Getz, Joel Frahm, Common, Bill Frisell, Andrew Bird, A Tribe Called Quest, Maria Schneider, and Scott Wendholdt.
I am Dustin Laurenzi. I am a saxophonist and guitarist from the Southeastern Wisconsin area but I am now residing in Bloomington, Indiana (for most of the year) where I study jazz saxophone at Indiana University. At IU I have the priveledge of working with reknowned jazz educator David Baker, Tom Walsh, Pat Harbison, Jeremy Allen, Steve Houghton, and Brent Wallarab. I have been performing as much as possible throughout the SE Wisconsin/Northern Illinois area and recently in the southern/central Indiana area with various groups including my own trios/quartets/etc., The Real Deal, Curt Hanrahan, and others. Currently, I play saxophone in a trio featuring Dan Pratt on drums and Tim Ipsen on bass, the John Valdez Quintet, Sextant (a sextet featuring IU professors Pat Harbison and Jeremy Allen) and the Brent Wallarab Big Band. I am also the guitarist of Brownout, a Bloomington-based funk/soul band, an improvisitory collective known as Paul Revere, The Lakeside Quartet, and This, a completely improvised funk/fusion/? quartet.
If you need a saxophonist, guitarist, or a band to play at any event, please contact me at migafferska@yahoo.com.

The music sounds sweet (like a mother fuckin tiger). If your ever in Oshkosh let us know, we'd love either set-up a show with you or something. Keep the good stuff up!
well i plan on visiting bloomington often during the school year so it won't be too bad i want to visit chicago sometime this summer as well so maybe that will work out
well, get used to it because i am not going to IU next year my parents refuse to pay for it. i am going to UL for one year and maybe going back i am pretty upset about it call me at least i won't be to far away damn this
thanks, im really close to a metra stop in Evanston (Central St), so lets figure out a time. I know a place we could probably play at where we wouldnt get payed but it would be more fun than playing in my basement. when i figure out my schedule we'll figure something out.
