Dustin Ray started playing at a very young age and was influenced by his father Jeffrey Lantier and grandfather Gerald Broussard. Dustin Started playing drums around the age of five and continued to play until he was twelve years old. He decided to pick up the accordion in memory of his father who was killed in an accident in ’98. He started learning everything by ear and practicing day in and day out. His grandfather would help him practice and gave him encouragement. Dustin started to sit in with different bands and finally he started singing around the age of fifteen. His mother and grandmother would help him learn to sing in french. He would play his heart out for different crowds and his style was becoming popular. He learned different things on the accordion by listening to Wayne Toups, Damon Troy, Belton Richard, and etc., he created his own style. With the first CD ’Coming out the Box’ he started getting complimented on such a talent he has acquired in the few years he was playing. Now he has mixed Cajun, Swamp Pop, Country, Blues, Rock n Roll, and R & B altogether and made a CD called ’Southern Groove’ and people can’t stop talking about it. He has come a long way and has worked hard with his band members to keep his dream alive. Dustin loves his fans and is grateful for them. Without them, he wouldn’t be successful with his career. He will continue to make music and go on playing for years to come. So when ya'll have want to have a great time and see a great show, come out and see Dustin Ray and Southern Groove
