I used to go to martha’s house every day after work. and i’d sit on her porch, playing my little travel guitar. most days i’d just sit there, slowly strumming "tumble weed" and smiling slightly to myself. then she’d pull up, see me and sigh heavily, finally getting out of her car, her fingers dialing "9 - 1 - 1" on her cell phone. Eventually she realized a restraining order really is just a piece of paper. After that, it was just a matter of time before she began to see through the madness to the music.
And we were a happy duo for about six months. We played a couple house parties, literally. Then we kinda got bored, but i’m sure it wasn’t her. prob’ly just me. anyway, we thought if we added someone else, maybe it wouldn’t be so boring and maybe we wouldn’t fight, or maybe it would just be more fun.
One night, there he was. We were playing at an art gallery. They had a great keg, too. anchor steam. classy. alex was drinking the beer. We told him to pay us back for the keg he had to join the band. He laughed, but there we were on his porch the following saturday.
He got the picture. We’re not positive, but we might threaten someone else into joining the band. But we’re not totally sure about that.
No, not moving to China...I just have to work there like, twice a year. Hong Kong is the bomb, yo! You would love it there...ya gotta come visit Athens again...you won't have to sleep in a car this time!
Sorry, when it comes to Nick Cave I get a little carried away. This song is from the new album. We're going to go see him and Spiritualized at the Hollywood Bowl in Sept. You should come with?! What a great line-up.
