A Little Something About the Dutch Cousins.
As stories go this is not a bad one. But most of the details have been removed to protect the band in question. Just ask a member at a show about the whole deal. Ply him with alcohol and you may get what your looking for... but probably not.
This here band started back in the dreary summer of 2003, a combination of classified ads and the odd, ODD party acquaintances. They practiced at Barry's place for about six months before a debut at Staccato in Adams Morgan in January 2004. The show was well received and the band immediately went into hiding.
After some intense group therapy they re-emerged on the DC scene only to find themselves naked, shaking and demo-less. Scotty (at the time the band's resident Svengali/guru/technical adviser) suggested a few things in the way of A: recording and B: clothing. Unfortunately, Dan the Cousins' OG... original guitarist was forced to flee to a nudist commune in Utah due to prior agreements.
Walaah! Along comes Scotty to save the day!!! He is now the band's second guitarist/back-up vocalist (as well as an influential adviser on dress, hair, and make-up)
He's here along with Tom on guitar and singing. Isaac is the Volatile bassist.
Barry of course is the more volatile drummer. The album is just here. The website is up and running, and no one is going to jail in the foreseeable future.
DUTCH COUSINS assemble.

"Do you think that if you write better music you will make 'better' money? Many musicians tend to assume that their success in the world of music depends solely on their level of talent, or on the question: how much have I created with my talent? Often, the success of many musicians is measured by the number of songs they composed or wrote for those who want to use their musical talent. In this book you will discover the values on which you would like to base the measure of your musical success and if great talent is everything you need to succeed. Once in a while, when I meet colleagues who enthusiastically tell me about the musical project they are currently working on, I immediately ask them: "And what about the money?" The money question has many, diverse answers. Here are a few: 1. "Forget the money. The main thing is – I got the job." 2. "They promised next time to pay me more." 3. "I know that I don't make enough, but what can I do?" 4. "I didn't quite understand what we agreed upon. I'll start working and then we'll see." 5. "I know that I'm not getting what I'm really worth, but nobody does!" 6. "They said that if I agree to this price, they'll recommend me to others." 7. "Everything will be fine." As a distant observer I quietly ask: "Don't you understand that there is something very big here that you are missing?!" A close friend of mine, who is a talented musician, reminded me of the days when I used to compose great music for musicals and plays at a bargain price for whoever was willing to hire me."
